Counselor

Chijiaku “CJ” Maduka is a counselor for Pre-College Programs at the University of Maryland, College Park. He holds a master's degree in Organizational Sciences with a concentration in Organizational Management from George Washington University and a bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Human Development from the University of Maryland, College Park.

He is an alumnus of the Pre-College Programs at the University of Maryland, College Park, where he previously worked as a Tutor Counselor for several years. Prior to his current role as a counselor, he spent six years working in ministry at a faith-based nonprofit organization. During this time, he primarily worked with college students at various universities across the DMV area, including the University of Maryland, George Washington University, and Howard University. His work focused on counseling and mentoring these students to grow and mature both in their faith and holistically in life.

Maduka’s main interests lie in helping others reach their full potential by addressing the anxieties, fears, and limitations that prevent them from doing so. Outside of work, he enjoys deepening his own faith, playing basketball, watching informative YouTube videos, and spending time with his wife, Kyndal."
