Reina Fuentes serves as a dedicated counselor for the Pre-College Programs at the University of Maryland, College Park. Prior to her role at UMD, she spent four years as a high school counselor in Montgomery County, managing a caseload of over 250 students from diverse backgrounds. Her work there focused on enhancing mental health, social-emotional well-being, and academic achievement.
Fuentes earned both her Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Human Development and her Master’s degree in Education for School Counseling from the University of Maryland, College Park. Her educational background and professional experience underscore her commitment to guiding and supporting students through their academic and personal journeys. She aims to continue fostering a commitment to lifelong learning, personal growth, and academic success within the Pre-College Programs community, helping students reach their full potential.
In her spare time, Fuentes enjoys watching football and soccer games, playing with her dogs, and going for walks or exercising!
