AP Prep
March 30-May 4
9 a.m. to Noon
Designed by UMD English faculty, the course offers a carefully planned curriculum to ensure students are fully prepared for their AP English Language and Composition and AP English Literature and Composition exams.
This course is designed to prepare you for the critical thinking, rhetorical, reading, writing, and analytical skills that will be expected both on your AP exam and in the college classroom. Students will spend extensive time reading, discussing, and analyzing a wide variety of fiction, poetry, media, and nonfiction from different cultures and time periods. The course intends to demonstrate that the analytical thinking and writing skills needed for college are also skills that help us navigate the various cultural and social interactions that we face in our daily lives.
18 hours of focused instruction and strategies, along with additional assignments, ensures that your child has enough practice to be confident on the test day.
